| Set in one of London’s most famous squares, Kitts launched amidst a wave of excitement in December 2006 and is a welcome addition to an area in need of a stylish yet unpretentious nightclub. Kitts contributes towards Chelsea’s re-emerging cool identity, at a time when a wave of fashionable boutiques, restaurants and hotels have started relocating to this celebrated square. An intimate venue, Kitts is named after the lush Caribbean island of St. Kitts. History has it that the 18th century physician Sir Hans Sloane first discovered cocoa whilst conducting botanist research in Jamaica and St Kitts, thus earning himself the reputation as the man who introduced chocolate to Europe. The team behind Kitts have combined the hedonistic party spirit of the Caribbean with polished British service as Duncan states, “We have aimed to create an air of escapism at Kitts whilst still maintaining all the attention to detail one would expect from a premium London nightspot. We hope Kitts is the perfect solution for the sophisticated London party goer.” The directors, Charlie Gilkes and Duncan Stirling, experienced club promoters, hope to iron out many of the current problems associated with high end London clubs. They have replaced the often arrogant attitude of management with a more courteous and respectful approach to their customers. The bar team at Kitts is led by Kester Thomas who has created an eclectic cocktail list which features the signature Hans Sloane, a delicious chocolate infused mix including an aged Caribbean rum. Other cocktails include the refreshing Colonial Breeze, a non-alcoholic cocktail containing a blend of fresh mango, orange, lime and passion fruit juices. Alternatively try the Kitts Martini, premium vodka, mixed with fresh crushed watermelon, lemon juice and topped with watermelon liqueur. |
