Popcorn and pic-n-mix not quite cutting it? Never fear. Superchef Rowley Leigh (Le Gavroche, Kensington Place, Le Café Anglais) has teamed up with Odeon’s new Whiteleys cinema for a full on menu to be enjoyed from the comfort of your seat.
Opening this month, each of The Lounge’s five screens will have a maximum of 50 reclining leather seats – each of which has its own call button so you can put in your order without missing a moment of the movie.
You’ll munch on Hamburger ‘royale’ with fillet steak (and maybe cheese), Red mullet risotto, Squid and salsify fritters plus as ice cream soda in innovative flavours such as lemongrass. Oh yes, and there’s gourmet popcorn as well. Form an orderly queue.

The silly season may be over, but that doesn’t mean the ‘silliness’ has to end.

Floridita – in Wardour Street – is still very much in the party spirit.
They are hosting Drag-Queen Dance-Classes – led by the dancing drag troupe, The Globe Girls – from 18th January onwards.
It’s billed as the ‘latest exercise craze’, but what exactly is one signing up for? Well, there’s a full-on dance routine to be enjoyed, lots of fun, laughter, glitter and fun … but in the end, it’s all designed to improve and work on muscle tone, flexibility, coordination and core strength.
If you want to channel Britney and Gaga, this is the place for you. Though you do have to like sequins … each pupil is expected to don either spandex or lame during the class. Oh and high heels are obligatory (EVEN in training).
Up to it? Go on, shake off those extra lbs by having fun. Much better than running around the park…

January is when we all slow down enough to take stock of just how much we scoffed in December. No wonder it’s a depressing time of year.

But Babylon restaurant, situated within Kensington Roof Gardens in London’s W8, is not going to let you get away with it that easily. In fact, Babylon are bucking the trend and instead introducing a ‘retox’ menu this month. Eat less? No way, they say!
A set lunch menu (priced at £21 for two courses and £23 for three) will include an array of rich dishes, including, roasted monkfish, beetroot tart tatin, baked Alaska pie and Farmhouse Cheeses – as well as other things.
Why not have an Espresso Martini to accompany it all? The ‘Mixology team’ always fiendishly ensure glasses are full with a poison of your choice.
Go on, start the year as you mean to go on.

In case you are in dire need of a diet, portion-cut-down and general detox but are too shy to join your equally-suffering cohorts in saying so at the gym, there is help at hand in Notting Hill.

Well, sort of. Supperclub London – situated in Notting Hill – is lending (an interesting kind) of a helping hand.
Admit yourself to their Supperclub Maximum Security Rehab Centre .. and they are promising to have your ailments solved in no time.
Here, ‘the road to recovery involves performance therapy, massage therapy and nutritious food’ .. all helped along by the ‘hottest nurses in London’ who will be holding your hand along the way. And how could we not believe them? This is, after all, the venue that has acquired fame through its unique form of risqué entertainment, DJs and recline-while-you-eat gourmet attractions.
Want to be cured of your January excess? Supperclub London – the institution that has followed in the footsteps of the popular Amsterdam version – is the place to be this month.
