Word on the Street

We all remember the riot Anya Hindmarch caused when she released her “I’m Not a Plastic Bag” tote, and it’s great to see that her latest venture, a line of bags produced in collaboration with London-based street artist Ben Eine, are equally stylish, wearable and fun.

Ben Eine is known for his alphabet lettering on shop shutters across the capital, notably in Shoreditch, Brick Lane and Broadway Market. His typography work has quickly made its way from street to gallery, having now held solo shows in London and featuring in commercial hotspots such as music videos and promos.

Hindmarch said of the project, “I’ve always been a fan of graphics and love the huge letters Ben Eine paints. I couldn’t resist the chance to work with Ben to replicate these ideas on bags.”

And so she did – four totes which feature unmissable prints, from “Loot” and “Booty” to a patriotic “Back Britain”. Available from April at Anya stores and Dover Street Market, the totes are priced at £145 each.
