Sagatiba Cachaca

Cachaça, Brazil’s favourite spirit, is rapidly growing in popularity in the UK.  Made famous by the cocktail Caipirinha, it has won a new group of devotees among cocktail drinkers and Sagatiba is aiming to catch itself a slice of the growing market with the launch of its multi-distilled premium Sagatiba Pura.

Although Cachaça is made from sugar cane like rum, it differs in taste and production as it is made up from fresh sugarcane juice that’s fermented and distilled whereas rum is usually made from molasses. Touted as having a fresher, livelier character, Cachaça dates back some 550 years and now is the third most consumed spirit in the world.

Sagatiba claims a unique ten step multi distillations process to give Pura a greater purity.  However, with competitors such as Beija-Flor and Leblon already established in the UK drinks market, only time will tell to see if it can make a big enough impression to gain a foothold here.

If you want to decide for yourself Sagatiba Pura is now available nationwide.
