Rok the Boat

Yet another fashion collaboration is planned for Fall/Winter, but this time the resulting collection is looking much more interesting. High street staple Whistles, who have had a quiet run in recent times, have enlisted the help of London Fashion Week favourite Roksanda Ilincic, whose quirky twists on classic elegance bring a certain polish to the masses.

The young designer is reportedly ecstatic about the collection, saying “It’s so wonderful to see my work reaching a wider audience”. Having forged herself a permanent place at LFW, showing for the past 3 years, Ilincic has quickly learnt to climb the fashion industry ladder – after several seasons at Harvey Nichols internationally, she is finally set to hit London this year, and has worked with both Browns and Net-a-Porter to exhibit her work to the fashion elite. She has become renowned for using elements of 40s and 50s haute couture in her covetable cocktail and evening dresses, which manage to be both romantic and feminine yet carry sharp, modern twists.

It is an aesthetic which Whistles, too, are excited about. CEO Jane Shepherdson said, “We have worked closely at every stage of the design process with Roksanda to capture her unique sense of play and contrast in colour, fabric and texture. It would be hard not to fall in love with the resulting collection”.

Priced from £175 to £300, the collection will be available from early September, in selected stores and concessions in Harrods, Selfridges and Brown Thomas.
