Patricia Field

We’ve had Stella at H&M. Celia Birtwell at TopShop. Mouret at Gap.

And now this, the queen of the SATC dynasty selling her wares at the UK’s favourite high-street store. More famous for its standard cotton basics than its glittering couture, Marks & Spencer has taken a bold step in collaborating with kooky Pat Field, and sadly some of the pieces demonstrate how Bradshaw’s brashness will never work for the masses – however to miss this completely would most definitely be missing out. Some of the dresses are truly inventive and new, their inspiration having been drawn from the carefully sourced vintage used throughout SATC.

Full marks go to the Rose Puffball Dress, which layers pencil and puffball skirts to create a new, modern silhouette, and the iconic studded belt which features heavily in the movie at SJP’s request – and really, who are we to argue ?
