Mariah Carey’s latest film Push has already received rave reviews and been a huge success at the recent Sundance Film festival. The film won two major awards, picking up the prestigious Audience and Grand Jury accolades in the US Dramatic Competition on the last day of the Utah festival.

The film is based on Push: A Novel by Sapphire and tells the story of Precious Jones, an illiterate and overweight teenager struggling to overcome the struggles of life in Harlem.

Mariah plays a social worker, Lenny Kravitz plays a nurse and Mo’Nique features as Precious’ mother.

Mariah said:

“The material is so great that I’m just privileged to be part of it.”

Hopefully it’ll be so good that we’ll all forget that Glitter ever happened…
