Dorchester Spa

The hugely anticipated Dorchester Spa has finally reopened and it’s well worth the wait. Inspired by 1930s art deco, the spa has nine sound proof treatment rooms, two double suites, a mani-pedi suite, as well as a relaxation room that you’ll never want to leave.

Upon entering the reception, it’s as if you’ve reached arcadia, with its glamorous and completely white interior it manages to remain natural and pure, yet still impossibly stylish.
With an impressive list of treatments it’s difficult to know which one your body craves more. I had the rose cocoon wrap which exfoliates,  tones and then moisturises your whole body with rose oil, and while you are wrapped in a cocoon sheet, your shoulders, arms and head are massaged. It’s ideal for the summer as it manages to inject deep moisture, pumping back health into neglected winter skin. The one reservation I might have is that the rooms are slightly too cool and despite being enveloped in soft sheets  there is still an ever present breeze in the room.

After the treatment you are lead into the relaxation room, which is equally peaceful and perfect if you’re not quite ready to face the clamour and clatter of Park Lane.

The Dorchester uses organic skincare brand Kerstin Florian for their treatments, while their signature facials are by Vaishaly and new discovery Carol Joy London. It certainly doesn’t disappoint and the tempting rabbit warren of treatment rooms makes it difficult not to wander into another room for just one more…
