Bibulous

We’ve now got the hang of shopping evenings that ply us with free champagne in the hope that we’ll leave clutching that £800 handbag we’ve been coveting for weeks.
Bibulous, however, doesn’t pull any punches. A tasting and buying event for fine spirits, it’s certainly not combined with anything but alcohol – save the odd mixer and an olive or two of course.
Bibulous is a tasting party and shopping event with a difference at a ticket price that costs less than a night in a bar.
Browse the tasting tables and cocktail stations where top mixologists including Andy Pearson of the aptly named Intoxicology Group, distillers and taste makers will help you explore new flavours with free tutorials. Pearson founded The Hoxton Pony, is the consultant for the swanky new bar at The Savoy and has even been seen on tv drilling Gordon Ramsay on his cocktail skills.
There’s also a lively mojito lounge, vintage rum shack and full-on cccktail bar. There’s even a spirits’ amnesty where you can bring in those dusty old bottles of disgusting Spanish liqueurs and trade then in for something way better.
And if you’re too smashed to carry home your purchases, get them delivered by the nice people at TheDrinkShop.com instead.
Cocktail curious and aficionados alike should head over to Vinopolis on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 November. The ticket price will include a raft of Bibulous taster size drinks though real aficionados can also buy tasters of limited edition spirits and cocktails.
Bibulous, Great Halls of Vinopolis, Stoney Street, Borough Market, London SE1 9BU.
Two show times each day, 1.30 to 5.30pm and 6 to 9.30pm. Over 18s only!
Tickets £16, or £25 for a pair www.showbibulous.com from end of October
