A Cold Wintour

Sienna Miller reportedly fell foul of Vogue editor Anna Wintour during a photoshoot for a cover of the US version of the magazine.

Apparently, the well respected fashion editor found the actress too ‘toothy’ and her hair ‘unruly’ during her Mario Testino photoshoot for the February edition in 2007.

And staff are said to have complained that the young star had ‘too many fillings’, captured in a behind-the-scenes documentary called The September Issue. The programme also reveals that she was airbrushed and designers took a photo of her face and pasted it on another shot of her body.

This is not the first time Sienna has been criticised for her looks; the actress reportedly lost her role as Maid Marian in Nottingham for being too thin and making co-star Russell Crowe look too old and too fat. But surely he does that on his own…

But as the backlash begins, the magazine has already issued a statement defending Sienna’s beauty, with head of communications Patrick O’Connell saying:

“While some retouching is a fact for any cover, no one is more convinced of Ms Miller’s beauty than Vogue.

‘The fact she’s appeared on the magazine’s September cover, our most important issue of the year, is a testimony to this truth.”

Sienna’s publicist added:

“Sienna Miller is the first person to admit that her photos are always retouched – no one is ever perfect.”

Not even Sienna, it seems…
