Idylle

Guerlain’s latest fragrance Idylle, which features the Bulgarian rose, has teamed up with Swarovski to create a limited edition of Idylle perfume adorned with crystallised Swarovski elements on the bottle.

Idylle is the first perfume created for Guerlain by Thierry Wasser. He wanted to produce a new fragrance aimed at younger customers and used the Plessis Robinson rose as the star ingredient and accompanied this with white musk, freesia, lily of the valley, lilac peony and jasmine, to give the scent its rich, yet subtle, flowery quality.

The newly launched golden bottle has been devised by up coming French designer, Ora-Ito, who wanted “a sensual design.” The elegant bottle is in the shape of a droplet and the striking Crystallised Swarovski element stone is the focal point. There are only ten exclusively available at Harrods and the bottles are priced at £210 for 50ml.

BenefitCelebutanteKit

Benefit’s latest limited edition sets, which have just reached stores, are causing more than just a stir amongst the beauty crowds.  The beauty boxes, “Glitz, Glam and Gloss”, “Powderazzi” and “Celebutante,” are each enclosed in quilted designed cases alluding to Chanel clutches and filled with the best bits of Benefit.

The “Celebutante,”  is an eight piece kit and contains everything you’d ever want in one bag.  Including high beam – a pink shimmer used to highlight areas of the face and body, benetint – a liquid red which is perfect for giving the illusion of a coquettish blush, lip gloss, lipsticks, eye shadow and two shades of blusher, not to mention brushes for applying too.

The “Glitz, Glam and Gloss,” holds three dual-headed shimmery lip glosses, ranging from gold and bronze through to violet and pink.  Less expensive than the “Celebutante,” they are the perfect size for putting in even the smallest handbag.

The last of the three is the “Powderazzi,” which is a selection of Benefit’s popular bronzers and blushers all in one case: Coralista, a pink/coral blusher, Dallas, a peach blusher and Hoola a bronzing blusher.

Every one of them makes the ideal gift, although these are definitely something that might not ever make your friend’s stocking in the end! And who said bad things came in threes…

In stores now

Celebutante: £29.50

Glitz, Glam and Gloss: £19.50

Powderazzi: £25

Magic Mirth and Mischief

Mac’s latest holiday collection can’t help but get you into the festive spirit.  Just in time for the run up to Christmas, Mac has launched their new collection which is full of glitter, shimmer and sparkle and will be reaching stores this November.

With bright fuchsia and cherry pink lipsticks, soft sparkle eye pencils, metallic nail lacquer and two tone eye shadow – which come in silver and gold accompanied by another colour, so you can merge or simply decide to wear one colour only – there’s a heady collection to choose from.

Also included are cute pocket size bags and kits – the perfect stocking fillers for sisters, mothers and daughters – and each lip or eye bag is filled with different delights.  With names inspired by magic, such as “Alakazam! Chocolate,” the eye bags are each filled with an assortment of pigments, reddened cocoa or black fluidline, as well as zoom lash and an eyeliner brush, and all are only £27.

Meanwhile, the  lip, eye and face kits each have a rich selection of colours to choose from.  Less sparkling than the separately sold eye shadows and lipsticks, the kits are perfect to wear all year round and are priced between £20-29.50.  Morphing you from quiet teen to snow queen the glamorous new collection goes on sale in all Mac stores from November 5th.

The Welbeck Clinic

Welbeck Clinic

There’s little secret as to why Welbeck clinic has been featured on ’10 years younger’ and won the private dentistry of the year award.  Everything about this whitewashed paradisiacal surgery breathes beauty and glamour. Never before have trips to the dentist been so enjoyable and with flip books of celebrity smiles, not to mention staff’s dazzling teeth it’s difficult not to be hooked from the moment you walk in.

The Welbeck clinic is renowned for housing the most experienced cosmetic dental surgeons in London.  Although the clinic offers numerous suggestions for your teeth, such as gum sculpting, cosmetic bonding, porcelain crowns and many more, it is the tooth whitening that has always been so alluring.  The Welbeck clinic offers two types of whitening: home whitening or laser whitening and I decided on their recommendation of the Zoom2! Laser.

The whole process takes four sessions.  In the first ten minute session the dentist examines your teeth, explains the process and answers your questions, such as whether it will be painful or will they be too white – I envisioned Ross from Friend’s experience, where his teeth were so white they glowed in the dark.  I also was curious to know how long it lasted – roughly three years but this includes the home whitening kit which you would use to ‘top up’ when necessary.

The next two meetings involve a mouth guard fitting and instructions on how to use it.  The three sessions are short but with careful attention to detail, hardly surprising when they have such an impressive high profile client list.  Although the actual whitening is at first a little daunting, your surgeon carefully talks you through exactly what they are doing.  It’s an almost pain free forty five minute experience, with merely the last fifteen minutes causing a slight sensitivity.  However, this should go down by the next day and the clinic even gives you a ‘relief cream.’  Instructions are given to only eat and drink white products, meaning coffee and red wine are out, and then you’re on your way.

The result is subtle yet significant. The changes are not the Hollywood bright that I was slightly afeard of, but a row of flawlessly, but naturally, white teeth.  These highly skilled experts know how to produce exceptional results to suit their client which is the reason why they have been leading the way in cosmetic dental excellence for fifteen years.
