Outsiders on the in.
Lazarides Gallery is getting bigger and better.
Great new space with a great new opening show to go with it.
Not only is the new space perfectly positioned on Caring Cross Road, (just off the beaten path, in a trendy little part of town) but it’s an interesting space to exhibit.
This permanent space will feature continuous shows of Lazarides artists’ works which is best described as ‘cult art’, including ‘pop art’, ‘graffitti’ and ‘graphic’s’.
Spread over three floors the viewers can move freely around the exhibition and actually see the different artists’ works.
This is not your usual gallery. No clean white walls and neutral setting in this space. The walls on each floor are different, some red and splattered with paint, others black. But it works and it works really well.
The current show, the opening show, is a group of works from all of Lazarides artists demonstrating the wide range of brilliant and talented artists that Lazarides has.
Such artists as Antony Micallef, Faile, Ian Francis, Paul Linsect and Conor Harrington.
Also, check out their newly reconstructed website that will allow all users to move virtually through the galleries and view all the works. Lazarides is taking the work of ‘cult art’ to another level.
The world of the web. What did we do without it.
