Mad Hatter’s
Monday, June 2nd, 2008Quirky?
Very.
Colourful?
Extremely.
Fell like you might have taken a little purple pill while trying to look at it?
Definitely.

Asprey has added a new design to its No 8 Rectangular automatic watch collection which reminds one of Alice in Wonderland or the Magic Roundabout for some reason.
This British Moments watch is designed, as Asprey puts it, ‘with quintessential British humour.’ (If that’s what you call it.)
It’s an elegant watch with a strong masculine rectangular case and very interesting and colourful Arabic numbers that dance all over the dial. These dancing numbers were inspired by traditional British moments. These moments included 11 o’clock elevenes and 4 o’clock tea time. (Wonder what kind of tea the designers have been drinking at their 4 o’clock tea parties.)
But what about the other numbers that seem to be floating all over the face of this colourful watch? What is their role in all this?
Well, after close observation they all do have a function of some kind. This watch has so many numbers because it shows you hours, as well as minutes and seconds.
With all those numbers all over the place it is not an easy watch to read if one suffers from attention defesit disorder or has had too much to drink.
It is amusing and one is sure to get a few comments if seen wearing one. So a definite conversation starter.
